To the People of the United States of America

To the people of the United States of America

“AFTER an unequivocal experience of the inefficiency of the subsisting federal government, you are called upon to deliberate on a new Constitution for the United States of America. The subject speaks its own importance; comprehending in its consequences nothing less than the existence of the UNION, the safety and welfare of the parts of which it is composed, the fate of an empire in many respects the most interesting in the world. It has been frequently remarked that it seems to have been reserved to the people of this country, by their conduct and example, to decide the important question, whether societies of men are really capable or not of establishing good government from reflection and choice, or whether they are forever destined to depend for their political constitutions on accident and force. If there be any truth in the remark, the crisis at which we are arrived may with propriety be regarded as the era in which that decision is to be made; and a wrong election of the part we shall act may, in this view, deserve to be considered as the general misfortune of mankind.”

Above is a direct quote from Alexander Hamilton’s Federalist Paper NO 1 in which he will begin his argument for a new federal government and our present Constitution. This same opening could just as well be used today with the present government we have. From it’s very beginning career politicians have done everything in there power to advance there parties agenda in place of the peoples welfare. Notice he starts out with the fact that the current government of the time is inefficient, much like the current government we have, also notice that he is very worried about our very existence, it’s safety and welfare.

Some might say we still face these problems today, others will cry radical, or fear monger but that’s ok, because if fearing that my grandchildren and great-grandchildren will not be able to grown up in the same America I did, then get that radical stamp out and increase the size of the letters, color them red and make sure you stamp my file twice.

I have always been a student of history and have always believed that what you don’t learn from history you are doomed to repeat. I think Hamilton understood this also

Among the most formidable of the obstacles which the new Constitution will have to encounter may readily be distinguished the obvious interest of a certain class of men in every State to resist all changes which may hazard a diminution of the power, emolument, and consequence of the offices they hold under the State establishments; and the perverted ambition of another class of men, who will either hope to aggrandize themselves by the confusions of their country, or will flatter themselves with fairer prospects of elevation from the subdivision of the empire into several partial confederacies than from its union under one government.”

In the third paragraph of his first paper Hamilton, although he doesn’t come right out and say it, has shown us the biggest enemy of the this country is, “greed”. It was true then and it’s true now. Greed within the financial industry, greed within the manufacturing industry, and greed within our own government. Personal, private and public greed the need to subjugate those around you for your own personal gains, the need to have more than anyone else, the need to be the Alpha Dog no matter who it hurts. Tell me is this all there is to life? Is this why, if you consider yourself a Christian, your God created you, or if you’re an atheist, is this why you climbed out of the primordially ooze, so you could be number one?

As it was then it is now it is up to us the people of the United States of America, to direct our government. If in Hamilton’s day the states hadn’t ratified the Constitution one can only imagine what type of country we would be living in. But our forefathers did ratify the Constitution and it is the law of the land and friends we are the land. The time has come for the American people to take back the country we so dearly love and put the politicians on notice. They will do what they were elected to do or there career is over, we must stop believing the lies, we must stop thinking as a nation divided between political parties, we must stop the unbridled greed with which this countries financial markets are run, we must stop importing from counties that are really our enemies and most of all we must stop electing the same politicians who do nothing for us as a people. It makes no difference if your Irish, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, where ever your from, you’re here for a reason, you’re an American first and America needs all her sons and daughters, both new and old to stand up with one voice and stop the rape of our nation, because I tell you true, if we don’t stop it America will die, believe IT!

Shame

On 9/11 the passengers and crew of flight 93 armed with the knowledge of what had taken place with early hijacked planes that day, took a stand and fought back. In doing so Flight 93 crashed into the Pennsylvania country side, forever ingraining this small group as patriots of the highest order, people who where willing to die to protect others, to protect there country. This flight, these people will be remembered always, we many not know there names, but we will always remember there actions.

Now in an effort to build a shrine to these people, that government which on that day in September these most wonderful people died to protect is going to steal the land to build there shrine. You can call it what you will, but when anyone takes something that doesn’t belong to them, it’s stealing. Once again people have shown there need to glorify the dead without any consideration for the living.
If you really want to honor these people then do so by respecting the living for the dead have been cared for, now leave them in peace.

Live and let Live

Could someone explain to me just what the hell is going on in this world of ours. What is it with everyone wanting to control each others lives. What? You haven’t screwed your own life up enough, now you want to screw with the rest of the people around you. Damn people, live and let live, worry about your own life and you’ll have plenty to do. Let other’s live as you want to live, FREE.

Sad but True

I am very disappointed in the California state legal system, I was pretty sure that the United States Constitution insured free and equal rights to every citizen of this country, I guess that’s everyone the majority accepts. Once again religious and personal freedoms are only free if you have enough votes.

Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh now here is a seriously demented piece of work. This man would bitch about anything and everything the Dems do. This man is so Republican when he sleeps he doesn’t snore, he brays. So here’s a bit of a challenge for you Rush, come get some you old jackass, your parties ass was kicked in the election of 2008 for President wait and see what’s done to your party in 2010. The RNC has to be the most miss managed, under achieving mass of miss fits to ever have joined a political party, and all you have is a group of followers with the inability to think for themselves, and I would bet hard earned money that most of them never had the balls to put on a uniform and serve. How about you Limbaugh, what branch of the service did you serve in?

How do we love thee

Gaints Among You

One by one through the ages we have dawned the uniform
We have fought for that which we love
Our homes
Our family
Our country

In each conflict we have held our heads high
We have fought with honor
We have fought with bravery
And some have died

Some have been blessed
They are the lucky ones
The ones who return unharmed
Unlike there brothers in arms

Some have taken wounds
Lost limbs
Lost self
And lost hope

Others continue to fight in there minds
That place that is all confining
Punishing
Unforgiving

I tell you from the heart there are giants among you
Yet they prefer to hide
For like all brothers they knowThe true heroes, they never came home.

Do you believe in God?

I was asked a rather personal question today, “ Do I believe in God”, and do you know what? I don’t think I do. I was raised in a Lutheran church, took the classes and the whole nine yards, and over the course of my life I have been in most every church there is, not all, but most. Guess what I found?

I found some preachers dressed up real pretty and some in old suits, I found churches that looked like they came right out of the renaissance and some old buildings with leaking roofs. I found people who were right and righteous on Sunday or Saturday whichever day they attended and on Monday they forgot what it was they preacher had said the day before. But the one thing that was most common in all of them was the preacher plea for money. Religion is the biggest business in the world. In any country religion is the biggest business there is bar none, I defy you to prove that this is wrong.

I had aunts and uncles that were preachers and there was never a time that I can remember that they weren’t having some type of function to raise money for something the church needed. Yet in all my years I have never seen a church have a function to help a person pay there mortgage, make a car payment, or buy them clothes. Oh they have used clothes you can have and some are nice, but you try explaining that to a teenager in high school. I want to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.
If you have faith in God, ok it’s your life. But you would be better served to have faith in yourself cause if there is a God he’s been on vacation for quit some time now. I have read the summed up Bible from cover to cover, a couple of times and let me save you the time because it can be into three words. “Do What’s Right” if you do that each and every day then, if there is a heaven you got no problems.

Anger Management

I write in this blog as a form of anger management. My wife says I get to worked up over things that I see and hear in the news and things that I see and hear people around do. I guess she’s right about that. I get angry when I see a story on the news about parents who nelect or harm their children, or when a child goes missing and is found dead. I seethe with anger when a wife or husband is the source of harm done to their child or children.

I and my wife have four children and two foster children and at present thirteen grandchildren. When my children were growing up we didn’t have a lot, that was my fault and many times Christmas and holidays where on the slim side. But I always gave my children what I had the most of, my time. We fished, camped, went to drive In movies together. My wife and I were involved in every aspect of their lives the good and the bad. We were lucky our children never got into the drugs and all made it through school and in all the times I was pretty sure one of them wasn’t going to make it till there next birthday, I never…ever…even considered doing one of them harm. At the present two of our children work for police departments, one works in the handicapped mobility industry and one is a simple wife and mother. Our foster girls are both married with children and all are leading happy normal lives with all the happy normal problems that come with life. I write this for the following reason;

I believe that adults who harm or molest children should be hung in the town square.
I believe that people who commit sex crimes of any kind, be they against children or grown women, again should be hung in public.
I believe psychologist are a blithe on the very fabric of society and should not be aloud anywhere near a child.

I believe these gangs that do drive by shootings, killing anyone who happens to be in the way should be hunted down and shot like the rabid dogs they are, I don’t care how old they are.

Now if you really want to stop all this crap I believe it can be done. Here’s how

First put the paddle back in the school system, cause when the school physiologist says that little Johnny has issues and needs counseling, what little Johnny really needs is his ass busted.

True story:

When my oldest son was in the fourth grade, I won’t say in which school because I’m sure that teacher isn’t there anymore.
Anyway, my wife told our son to clean his room and get his chores done before dinner, to which he responded with, and I quote. “I don’t have to do what you say, and if you hit me I’ll tell my teacher and she’ll have the state take me away from you and put me in a foster home”. Needless is say my wife was shocked and when I came in she informed me as to my sons remarks.

I am a man who believes in taking the bull by the horns, I called my son to the front room where I promptly bust his butt and informed him that I would be taking him to school the next day. Why would I go to school you might ask, well it seems that he got the idea of not getting spanked from his teacher who had told her class that they were to inform her if the parents spanked them for any reason and she would take care of it. So…….
The next morning I took my son to school and confronted his teacher, The first thing I did was ask her if she had said what my son had said she did. And the little gal got all full of herself and told me what she had said to her class was of no concern to me. This was a very serious mistake in judgment, because this woman had no idea just how protective I am of my family.

“Really” was my reply, from there the conversation went pretty much as follows.

“WHO IN THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE you little piece of shit? The next time to say something like that to my son I’ll come in here, pick your skinny little ass up, dunk your head in that mop bucket and mop this school with your ass. Let me tell you how it works, that boy (pointing to my son) is my son, he well do what he is told when he is told and if he doesn’t I will bust his ass and you nor anyone else will stop me. By this time I had her backed into a corner of the room. Let me tell you something else when he’s sixteen and tells me he is going to spent the night at a friends house that’s where he’ll be, he won’t be out drinking, he won’t be out doing drugs and the police won’t be bring him home, why because he will not only know right from wrong, but because mine and his mothers trust will be more important to him than a drink or a joint. Because he will know that with everything in this life that can be taken away, freedom, money, cars, everything and anything material there is only one thing you have to give away to lose and that is your honor, and once you get that away there’s no getting it back.

To make a long story short, my son never told his mother he didn’t have to again, the police never came to my door during his teen years and when he was a senior in high school about to graduate I got a call from an old lady who lived close to the school. My son had ask me to go to her house one time an repair something for her and I did. She was crippled up pretty bad and didn’t have much money, so I didn’t charge her for the repair, my son knew I wouldn’t.

Anyway when I answered the phone she said Mr. Phillips this is and said her name I don’tKnow if you remember me but you did some repairs for me, I told her I remembered her and asked what I could do for her. She told me she was calling about me son. I asked if there was a problem. To which she replied oh no, that’s not why I’m calling. She said she was calling to tell me just how wonderful my son had been to her all year. That he had stopped by everyday on his way to school and fixed her fire, she heated with a wood stove, and then he would stop again on his way home from school and check on her and fix the fire again. She told me he wouldn’t let her pay him and when she asked him why, he told her that it was just something he had to do and it didn’t take much time. This woman spent about thirty minutes telling me how great he was and right there and then all the years of being the strict father, of watching him grow up into the young man I knew he could be, right there I knew he had.

There's a Wall in my house

There’s a wall in my house that my children and grand-children call the military wall. At the top of this wall hangs the picture of my father, a WWII veteran, below his picture hangs the flag that covered his coffin. To the left of that flag hangs a picture of myself, a Vietnam era vet. To the right of the flag hangs a picture of my son, a Dessert Storm vet. Below the flag hangs the picture of my three brothers, all veterans during some conflict or other in our nations history. I tell you this because the other day my grand-son called me and informed me that he was going into the Army and the he would be sending me a picture for that wall. My heart sank down to the very pit of my stomach, you see so far my family has been very lucky, everyone on that wall has come home, now once more my government is going to place one of my own in harms way.

The reason I wrote this is because yesterday I watched the President and the former Vice- President give there speeches on our countries security. I heard from the President that which I joined the service to defend. The rule of law, the personal freedoms and rights that we should all hold dear, because they come at a high price. What I heard from the former Vice-President was the same bull shit that I heard all eight years that he and his former boss were in office. What really bothers me is that there are people out there who believe this crap. They don’t understand that it is being peddled by people who didn’t even have the intestinal fortitude to fight for the country they claim to be trying to protect. The former Vice-President got several deferments to keep out to he military during Vietnam, the former President joined the National Guard and then was to drunk half the time to even show up at his meetings. These are the people who have placed your children and grand-children in harms way.
When the former President of these United States condoned the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques”, as they wish to called them, I prefer there real name, TORTURE they shamed this country, they shamed every man and woman in uniform and they shamed every soldier who has died to defend this country, our beliefs and what it is we stand for and have always stood for in the world. If we were at war with a country who did these things to our people we would put them on trail for war crimes and either put them in prison or execute them. So Mr. President this is the United States of America. The home of the free and the land of the brave. Do we all live by the law or do we all live by the law except the Executive Branch?

Political BS Continues

So the congress doesn’t want to close Gitmo, hum so the congress is just as stupid as the last President, this explains why there satisfaction rating is in the shitter doesn’t it.
Have we as America’s gone so far down the hole that now we have to practice torture and illegal means of holding POW’s. I mean Bush in his infinite stupidity did declare war on a country that had done nothing to us, to find WMD’s that didn’t exist and congress went along with that, didn’t they?

I wonder how long the America people will continue to put up with the complete lack of caring of our elected officials. I though that maybe with the financial melt-down that we as a people would finally say that enough was enough, but no. We just stand by while our elected representatives continue to play at there game of kings. Heed this warning Washington your day of reckoning is fast approaching, the day when we the people will come to the end of Your Rope. The day when America finally wakes up and puts and end to all of your pity little games of power, and if you don’t get your head out of your ass and start doing the job you where elected to do, that day will come sooner than you think.
I know you think these are the ranting of a nut, but that’s ok, you can think as you please. What you better do is become a student of history. Look at every large nation or empire before the US and you will see that eventually either the people bring it down or the military gets to the point where it’s had enough of fighting politically bogus wars and they bring it down. You can only kick a dog so much and sooner or later it will bit you.

35 Miles Per Gallon.....Why?

So in the news it seems that the new President wants car makers to raise there gas mileage up to 35.5 miles per gallon……Why? Not why does he want the mileage raised but why do we need a law requiring it. Japan auto makers will be there before we are, that kind of makes it redundant doesn’t it. If the auto industry in Japan will be at 35 mpg two years before our industry what is the point. How long will the America car industry continue to suck hind tit before they figure out that they need to get ahead of the curve. If the auto industry in Japan is coming out with 35mpg next year then at the very least the American Auto Industry should be there two…..or hey here’s and idea…..why not come out with a car that gets 50 or 60 mpg and be ahead of the others. Why not, because it makes to much since……doesn’t it.

Religion Intrigues Me

Religion intrigues me, I find it interesting that people would believe in an all knowing and all powerful god. Not only do they believe in this god people from every walk of life are willing to kill and die for this god. Me, I believe that should there be such a deity with that much power, why would they need us to kill for them? I don’t understand the reasoning behind this.

Did you know that the first evidence for ritual behavior or worshiping a god dates back some 70,000 years and has continued to grow. Now I for one believe that all people have the inherent right to believe in whatever or whichever god they choose, I don’t believe they have the right to force that god on me. I guess my biggest problem is with organized religion. Although I wouldn’t count myself among the true believers I have read the bible and have come to the conclusion that the bible can be summed up into three words. “Do what’s right” and yet people don’t as a whole do what’s right. I have some problems with a man standing in the pulpit telling me what god what’s me to do or interpreting the bible as to his way of thinking and telling me that my way of interpreting the same passage is wrong, or that I miss understand.
I believe that each and everyone has the ability to read and understand the bible, that the bible was written my man for the enlightenment of man and to tell anyone that there understanding is wrong is the way that organized religion keeps it’s hold on the faithful. O well this is a discussion I have had with many ministers, pastors and priests and there answer is always the same, we are trained in the ways of the bible. And my reply is always the same, “but were you trained by god”.?

Maybe we need to Lobby for America

Ya know, I have spent most of my life roaming around this country looking for the real America. The America that you read about in books and see in TV programs. You know the one I’m talking about, the America where neighbors actually care about each other. Where parents really care about their children and where politicians get elected because they have a better answer too the everyday problems that each and everyone of us face. I can’t seem to find it. What I fine is far bleaker than I could ever imagine.

I find people forming homeowners associations so they can control there very neighborhoods, control what a person can put on there own property, control the color they paint there house, control the type of pet you have, control what your yard looks like, why do these people want to control everything that has to do with your home. What surprises me more is that people actually move into these neighborhoods and allow the control.

I find parents who are so wrapped up in the own pity problems they don’t have the time to spend with there children, and when the child is in trouble they can’t understand why, and more is the pity, they really don’t understand why. I find children so lost and alone, even living at home they’ll do anything to get any kind of attention, drugs, gangs, murder, rape…. I mean you name it and a child somewhere has done it. The saying that children are our future is very true, so looking at the news today how does the future look to you.
Then we come to politicians, now these people really bother me. We live in a country with two basic parties, the Democrats and Republicans and as far as I’m concerned they both suck the big one. We elect Represenatives and Senators to go to Washington and do what is in the best interest of us, we the people. We have elected these people to do their jobs with our best interest and the best interest of the country as a whole as their prim directive and they never do. Oh they make pretty speeches and makes lots of promises, it just seems when they get to Washington they forget why they were sent there. I think the problem is that we the people don’t have a lobbyist. I mean look at it, the banks have lobbyist, Wall st has lobbyist every major corporation in the country has lobbyist, but we don’t. Maybe….just maybe it’s time we get ourselves some lobbyist, I mean we have something more powerful than money, we have the vote and without our vote they don’t get to Washington, what do you think.
