Gaints Among You

One by one through the ages we have dawned the uniform
We have fought for that which we love
Our homes
Our family
Our country

In each conflict we have held our heads high
We have fought with honor
We have fought with bravery
And some have died

Some have been blessed
They are the lucky ones
The ones who return unharmed
Unlike there brothers in arms

Some have taken wounds
Lost limbs
Lost self
And lost hope

Others continue to fight in there minds
That place that is all confining
Punishing
Unforgiving

I tell you from the heart there are giants among you
Yet they prefer to hide
For like all brothers they knowThe true heroes, they never came home.
